Summer is always the most popular time to travel for many reasons, but it’s essential not to forget about the other months! Each month has its charm, and ‘off-season’ travel times are often the best—you just need to know where to look.
Without further ado, here are my top destination picks for each month:
June Travel Destinations
- Greece: Time to hit those islands.
- Turkey: Cappadocia and the infamous hot air balloons.
- Italy: Amalfi Coast road trip, anyone?
- Copenhagen: Midsummer temperatures & pristine Scandinavian vibes.
- Croatia: A cheaper (and maybe better) Italian alternative.
July Travel Destinations
- Portugal: Check out Madeira & the Azores.
- Spain: Especially the South, with 11 hours of sunshine.
- The Seychelles: Paradise island in paradise conditions.
- Switzerland: Explore the mountainous scenery in sunny weather.
- Canada: Road trip, anyone?
August Travel Destinations
- Central & Eastern Europe: Beware of crowds, however.
- South of France: The French Riviera is a must.
- Singapore: Less humid than other times.
- East Africa: Zanzibar, Kenya.

September Travel Destinations
- Malaysia
- Paris: Less crowded & pleasant conditions.
- Boston: Sports season & autumn foliage begin.
- Germany: Oktoberfest kicks off.
- Portugal: The Algarve region.
October Travel Destinations

- Northern France: Pleasant conditions & fewer crowds.
November Travel Destinations
- Dubai
- Iceland: Enjoy the glacial landscape at its best.

- Tuscany, Italy: Golden kissed autumnal landscapes.
- Thailand: Rainy season (officially) ends & fewer crowds.
December Travel Destinations
- Christmas Markets: Germany, Austria, Northern France, Scandinavia.
- Finland: Lapland.
- Cape Town: For sun.
- New York: At Christmas?
- Australia: Summer down under.
